Steve Austin
On June 15, 2002, Steve Austin's wife, Debra McMichael, called 911 and told authorities that her husband had hit her. Police were dispatched but Austin had left before they arrived at the house. Debra was crying at the front door and had a swollen right cheek and bruises on her back after her husband hit her several times and shoved her.
On August 14, Austin surrendered to authorities and he was eventually charged with assault that caused bodily injury and was booked on $5,000 bond. Austin pleaded no contest to the charges.
Debra would later go on to say in interviews that Austin had hit her several times before but she was scared to do anything. Debra never pressed charges and of course, Austin refuses to comment on the situation. Howard Stern asked if Austin would phone in to give his side of it, which Austin refused. Stern did a mock wrestling interview of the situation impersonating Austin's voice.
It was eventually Steve Austin who filed a divorce from his wife in July of 2002, which she accepted.
Interesting side note: Debra's real name is Debra Marshall. However when her and Austin were married in Las Vegas, the name on the marriage papers said "Debra McMichael". I'm referring of course to her ex-husband, Mongo McMichael.
