Yokozuna no-sells Mabel's bulldog.
At In Your House 4 on October 22, 1995, the two largest wrestlers in WWE collided one-on-one: Mabel (now known as Big Daddy V) vs. Yokozuna.
Most fans would think that you couldn't botch any spots in a match that only lasted five minutes and 12 seconds (especially with two behemoths who don't do many spots as it is), but you would be wrong if you guessed that.
During the match, Mabel went for a bulldog. This maneuver involves running at an opponent who is bending down and facing away from you, grabbing a side headlock, and slamming their face into the mat as they land on their chest with their legs out-stretched behind them. Mabel did his part fine and actually looked like he was going to get some pretty good impact on it.
The only problem was that Yokozuna didn't go down. In fact, he didn't seem to know what was going on. At the last instant, his facial expression changes, indicated that he braced himself for something, but whatever he was preparing for, it definitely wasn't a bulldog, as his head never got any closer than two or three feet from the ring canvas.
Jerry Lawler instinctively tried to play it off as if Mabel "missed" the move, but to anyone who has seen the move executed correctly, it was clear that he hadn't done anything wrong, and that it was Yokozuna who was responsible for the misexecution.
The match itself ended up going to a double count-out.
Yokozuna passed away five years (to the day) after this match. A heart attack claimed his life on October 22, 2000 while he was wrestling on an independent tour in Liverpool , England.
