Rob Feinstein Busted In An Internet Sting By Perverted Justice.

In the early 1990’s a video company called RF video was created by Robert Feinstein and his friend Gabe Sapolsky as an outlet for “fan shot” videos of smaller wrestling promotions in the USA. The company would soon tour with the original ECW setting up a booth at shows for fans. In 2001 after the original ECW went out of video RF Video owner Rob Feinstein wanted a new promotion to use to continue the sales of wrestling tapes and DVD’s. Feinstein decided to fill the void so he created the wrestling promotion ROH.

In March of 2004 Feinstein caught in an internet sting set up by Perverted Justice designed to catch internet predators. Feinstein thought that he was talking to a 14 year old boy when in fact he was talking to a decoy from the site posing as one. He also told the decoy that he was 22 years old when in fact he was 31 and that he was a wrestler for Pro Wrestling Guerilla and asked the boy if he could show up at the house later for sex. When Feinstein arrived at the house he was instead met by a news crew who was working in tandem with Perverted Justice on the sting. When the news crew tried to confront Feinstein at his home and working office, Feinstein ran.

Luckily for Feinstein no formal charges were brought, however the publicity would be disastrous for Ring Of Honor. The incident would cause TNA to split with ROH as they had a talent exchange deal going at the time and a cancellation of an upcoming show in Glen Burine Maryland.

Soon after Rob sold his share of Ring Of Honor to Cary Silkin the current owner of ROH.
