Vader threatens Kuwait television host for asking if wrestling is fake. In 1997, the WWF was on tour in Kuwait and were promoting their main event match on the television show Good Morning Kuwait. The main event consisted of Big Van Vader challenging The Undertaker for this World Wrestling Federation title. The host of the show, Bassam Al Othman, made the same mistake that 20/20's John Stossel made years earlier: He asked a very big wrestler if professional wrestling was fake? In case you don't know, that is a no-no. Like most professional wrestlers, Vader felt insulted by the question and lost his temper. He grabbed the Othman by his shirt and started to ask him "Does this feel fake?", and told Othman that neither him or the Undertaker were their on the show to be insulted. Othman was visibly scared and instantly retracted his question which made the rest of the show extremely awkward. Vader went on to say in interviews that he was protecting the business from embarrassment by his actions. |
