The Jackie Gayda/Trish Stratus RAW match. On July 8, 2002 during an episode of WWE RAW, a mixed tag-team match was set up earlier in the show between Trish Stratus & Justin Bradshaw taking on Jackie Gayda & Chris Nowinski. The match started with Nowinski and Bradshaw, but the girls were both eventually tagged in and the magic happened. Trish ran towards the ropes near Jackie and acted as if she was fixing to be thrown to the outside over the top, but Jackie never touched her so the move would've looked awkward if performed. Jerry "The King" Lawler on commentary asks "What's this?" Trish landed back down, and went to perform, what looked like, a drop-toe hold but Gayda landed on and rolled over Trish, instead of crashing to the canvas face-first. The crowd loudly boos. Stiff moving and sloppily-performed maneuvers continued until eventually, Nowinski and Bradshaw brawled out of the ring and into the crowd, leaving the Diva's in the ring to battle it out. Gayda set up Stratus on the top rope and charged at her. Trish blocked it with a kick, and went for a bulldog/face buster from the second rope. Whatever the move, Gayda fell to the ground far later than she was suppose to. The crowd loudly boos. Trish covered Gayda for the pin and Good Ol' J.R. said what we were all probably thinking... "Mercifully, it's over." |
