Rick Rude's career-ending injury.

On May 1st 1994 at the NJPW show that took place in Fukuoka, Japan, Ravishing Rick Rude took on Sting for the newly formed WCW International title.

During the match, Sting dove to the outside onto Rude who caught him as normal. However, during the landing, Rude landed back first on a step located on the arena floor causing him a career-ending injury in his back and neck.

Rude went on to win the match and the title, however due to his inability to wrestle anymore, management decided since Rude used a foreign object in the match that the title should be reversed back to Sting (kayfabe).

Rick Rude never returned to wrestling action after the injury, but stayed in the business as a manager in WWF, WCW, and ECW until he passed away.

He was also the only wrestler in history to appear on WWE Monday Night RAW and WCW's Monday Nitro on the same night.
