Kevin Sullivan Falls Asleep Repeatedly.

In November of 2008, RF Video conducted a shoot interview with Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Raven, and Kevin Sullivan entitled "Face Off Vol. 6 - See, Hear, Speak No Evil." Now, on paper, this was a great idea and surely would be a must-buy for all serious wrestling fans. Three of the best booking minds in wrestling history trading stories, discussing wrestling psychology, and giving their viewpoints and ideas on some of wrestling's most memorable and not-so-memorable angles. Unfortunately, that was not the case at all thanks solely to Kevin Sullivan.

From the very beginning to the closing credits, poor Sullivan just couldn't keep his eyes open. The DVD started with Raven complementing Roberts and Sullivan, saying that both men highly influenced his career. This must've bored Sullivan immensely because 10 seconds after the DVD started, Sullivan was already falling asleep. He did manage to wake up and take his hat off before dozing off again while Raven and Jake discussed the early days of Jake's career. At one point while Raven was talking about how Roberts became more popular than his father, he looked over and noticed Sullivan passed out with his mouth open. Raven and Roberts, being the professionals they are, continued on without missing a beat while Sullivan got some shut-eye.

This forced the camera man to pan away from Sullivan for several minutes while Roberts and Raven forcibly talked through the awkward situation. After about 15 minutes of Sullivan counting sheep, the interview was interrupted off-camera by Jake The Snake's wife bringing coffee to the three men in hopes of waking up Sullivan. At the same time, a voice off camera shouted...

"Kev! What the fuck dude?! Wake up!"

After the outburst, the cameras stopped and three men got a cup of coffee and then continued the interview. However, in retrospect, it might've been better if Sullivan just stayed asleep. Sullivan's tired voice was very low in tone making him hard to hear for the viewing audience. If that wasn't bad enough, most of his words were very slurred and incoherent.

Sullivan did manage however to put over Raven and Roberts...alot Towards the beginning of the DVD, Sullivan talked very proudly of how both men were tremendous performers and had great minds for the business. Then he'd go back to sleep. You see, any time Raven or Roberts talked for more than a minute, Sullivan would doze off and wake-up in spurts, losing track of the conversation, which is probably why he stayed on (and kept going back to) the same subject for nearly the whole interview. At one point, Sullivan even dozed off in mid-sentence, causing a very awkward pause for everyone involved.

Roberts and Raven acted professional towards Sullivan's situation but it became very obvious they had grown a little frustrated. Raven politely interrupted Sullivan several times to remain on topic. Roberts, on the other hand, signaled to his wife off-camera that he wanted a cigarette while Sullivan slurred a story from the 80's that had nothing to do with what Raven and Roberts were talking about.

Due to Sullivan's sleeping, slurring, and inability to remain on topic, the DVD received very poor reviews from fans on RFVideo.com and with good reason. We only provided 7:00 minutes of footage from the DVD of Sullivan falling asleep but trust us, there's alot more.

Whether Sullivan was pilled out of his mind or just hadn't slept in months, he was clearly in no condition to conduct a two-hour interview. However, in hindsight, if Sullivan was paid to basically nap for two hours, it just proves how far his wrestling genius goes.
