Madusa trashes the WWF Women's title on WCW Nitro.

On December 18, 1995, towards the beginning of the Monday Night War, WCW executed one of the biggest power plays of the war when Madusa showed up on WCW Nitro with the WWF Women's title.

In October of that same year, WWF imported Japanese female wrestler Aja Kong to feud with Alundra Blayze, Madusa's WWF character. Their first showdown was at the 1995 Survivor Series, where Blayze, along with Kyoko Inoue, Sakie Hasegawa and Chaparita Asari battled Bertha Faye, Aja Kong, Tomoko Watanabe and Lioness Asuka. In the end, Kong pinned Blayze to be the sole survivor.
The following week on RAW, Kong and Watanabe defeated Blayze and Inoue when Kong pinned Inoue. Kong then defeated Chaparita Asari a week later.

But that would be the last women's match in the WWF for sometime and the Blayze/Kong feud never materialized, though it had been advertised by WWF Magazine as one of the matches at the 1996 Royal Rumble.

It turned out that Miceli had not been happy with the Blayze character and began negotiating with her former employer, WCW. The WWF found out about this and fired her for talking to the competition while still under contract. That's when Miceli quickly signed with WCW.

In one of the most unforgettable moments in pro wrestling history, she insulted the WCW announcers (along with Mongo's dog), denounced her former Blayze gimmick, reclaimed her Madusa moniker, and most importantly, threw the WWF Women's Title belt in a trash can.

Eric Bischoff stated in the Monday Night War DVD that he was the one who encouraged Madusa to bring the belt to Nitro. Madusa has stated in interviews that she did not mean to burn any bridges with this act, as she was "just doing what she was told."

This moment was the initial reasoning behind the Montreal Screw Job that would happen 2 years later.
