Brusier Brody scares Lex Luger out of a cage match. In January of 1987, Lex Luger, still very green and new to the business, took on Brusier Brody in a steel cage match. The following incident has many reports as to what happened, such as Brody taping razor blades to his finger tips and scaring the hell out of Luger. The razor blades never happened, but Luger being scared certainly did. Before the incident took place, many of the other wrestlers on the card decided to rib Luger since he was new to the business. They insisted that Brody was legitimately crazy and that he should be careful when getting into the ring with him. They also informed Brody of the rib and Brody decided to play along. So at some points in the middle and towards the end of the match, Brody began to no-sell everything Luger was dishing out. Brody even took the rib so far as to "stiff" Luger a little here and there, but not too much. However, Luger not knowing what was going on and being extremely confused when Brody began no-selling, got scared. When Brody had Luger in a headlock, Luger got out of it and tackled referee Bil Alfonzo to force a DQ (even though it was a cage match.) Alfonzo states on his RF Shoot Interview that Luger said "F*** THIS!" and exited the ring in quick pace, not looking back. The two men talked years later down the road and Brody explained that the whole thing was a rib and a big misunderstanding. Luger laughed it off in his own shoot interview with RF. |
