Kane slips off the top rope.

On August 24, 2003 at WWE's Summerslam, Rob Van Dam was taking on "The Big Red Machine" Kane in a No Holds Barred match.

In professional wrestling, whenever a "big man" (usually 300+ lbs.) such as Kane climbs the top rope, the announcers usually hype the spot because of the dangers of the maneuver. A heavy-weight tall man trying to balance himself on two 2-inch wide ropes with give is more difficult than it may sound, and the fans and announcers give their respect for any wrestler able to succeed at it.

Undertaker has done his top-rope walk flawlessly for years in his career, while Psycho Sid, who is similar in height to Undertaker, violently broke his leg after one of his few top-rope move attempts in his whole career.

You can see a nervous Kane in the video climbing to the top slowly and cautiously. Just as he goes to jump on RVD on the outside, he loses his balances and thankfully fell to the inside of the ring, catching his off-balance on the ring ropes.

However, this botch forced Kane to climb the ropes much quicker than he originally did and performed the jump successfully.
