Jake Roberts infamous Heroes of Wrestling interview. On October 10th, 1999 in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Jake the Snake was scheduled in the main event against Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart in one of the worst produced wrestling shows ever televised on pay-per-view. Thats a big statement to make, but considering the events of the show and the performance by Jake the Snake, one would be hard to argue. Roberts was scheduled to cut a promo before his match and thats when the people behind the curtain began to panic. As the video shows, Jake, who is well-known for his quick wit and brilliance on the wrestling microphone, started incoherantlycomparing himself to gambling, saying the line... "I cheat...okay? I cheat. You got 21, I got 22. You wanna play BlackJack, I got 2 of those too. You wanna play Aces and an Ace, maybe I got too many of those too..." ...and then changed his approach on getting his point across. He then switched subjects to his famous pet snake Damien. He pointed towards the snake and the camera man followed, and then Jake began insulting the camera man a few seconds later for not being on his face. Jake was also literally using Michael St. John, the man with the mic, to keep his balance during the interview. Not to mention during several parts of the interview, Jake's words were extremely slurred. Because of this moment, the scheduled finish and entire main event was replanned and rewritten in minutes, to which a drunken Jake was not to happy about. But that's another story...
