Hayabusa botches shooting star press. On July 30, 1995, in what started off as an incredible match, Japanese legend Hayabusa, still a little "green" at the time, attempted a shooting star press against his opponent Gladiator. Hayabusa could not turn his body completely over and landed face first onto Gladiator. Hayabusa injured his neck and bit his lip severely, causing blood to pour out of his mask during the match. After he finished the match with his face and mask soaked with blood, Hayabusa was rushed out to an ambulance. X-Rays revealed he had cracked a vertebrae in his neck. As it turns out, landing on Gladiator could very well have saved his life, had instead he landed face first onto the mat. Unfortunately, Hayabusa's daredevil-like antics caught up with him.*
