Hardcore Holly receives 6-inch gash on back.

During the ECW show that took place on September 26, 2006, Rob Van Dam took on Hardcore Holly in an extreme rules match.

A spot in the match called for a suplex to the outside through a table. The landing went perfectly, however, a piece of the broken table ripped a six inch gash into the back of Holly.

Holly continued on with the match for nearly another 10 minutes. Afterwards he received a standing ovation after losing the match. It took 24 stitches to close the wound and it was later worked into an angle.
