Fan climbs cage to "save" Macho Man..

On July 22, 1988 at Madison Square Garden, "Macho Man" Randy Savage was defending his WWF Heavyweight title against the "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, with Virgil, in a steel cage match.

Towards the end of the grueling match, the champion was fixing to make his exit by climbing out. Virgil climbed the cage to stop Macho Man, and so Dibiase could make his escape and become champion.

One fan had other plans.

With no one coming to Macho Man's aid, the "excited" fan climbed the cage and began punching Virgil, which would receive the loudest pop of the match.

The fan did little damage to the match itself and it went off as planned, with the exception of the fan being tackeled and arrested by security and police officers.
