The Machine has extreme delayed reactions.

On the February 2, 2000 edition of Thunder, DDP wrestled the debuting Machine. During a spot towards the end of the match, Machine prepared to dive off the top rope as a staggering DDP ran into the opposite ropes.

Normally, the resulting reaction for hitting the ropes in such a way would cause The Machine to lose balance and fall onto the turnbuckle groin first. This is not what happened.

Machine, a recent WCW power plant student, then stood there for a second, then let out a blood curdling scream and jumped off the top rope onto the middle of the ropes.

Machine was quickly taken off of televised shows and DDP would laugh about the incident for the next few months.
