Takeshi Morishima severely injures Bryan Danielson's eye.

On August 25, 2007, Bryan Danielson took on Takeshi Morishima for the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight title. The match was a heavily anticipated rematch and was the main event for the show.

Right from the beginning of the match, the two men exhanged some very stiff punches and kicks to each other that eventually took their toll. At just 6 minutes into the 45 minute match, Morishima kicked Danielson in the eye socket.

Danielson was visibly hurt for the remainer of the match, constantly grabbing at his eye while barely being able to keep it open, if at all. Danielson ended up with a fractured eye socket and a detach retena which caused him to lose control of the muscle movement in his eye. Danielson was out for a few weeks and wrestled many of his return matches wearing an eye patch.

Despite the injury, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer awarded the match as Match of the Year of 2007.
