The ring ropes break under Mike Awesome.

On February 5 1994, during ECW's The Night the Line was Crossed, Mike Awesome took on J. T. Smith in what was one of Awesome's first ECW matches.

After the match that resulted in a serious back injury of Smith, Awesome took his anger out on the referee. After his signature Awesome bomb, Mike Awesome climbed the ropes in an attempt to splash the referee.

However, the top rope gave out, sending Awesome face first to the ground.
